Dear Fellow Ministers,
We want to send a very sincere thank you to all who have responded to the needs of Haiti due to the recent earthquake. We have been extremely blessed with the response and support of the MFI churches toward Haiti ARISE Ministries. We have received many donations, prayers and interest to send teams from your churches and we are so grateful for our fellowship with MFI.
Here is a brief update on the situation in Haiti and with Haiti ARISE: We have been blessed to be able to meet the immediate disaster relief needs of our community in Grand-Goave by providing food, water and shelter. Through aid from the US Navy and Lifeline Christian Mission as well as Haiti ARISE purchasing rice, we have been able to do regular distributions of food. Samaritan’s Purse has partnered with us to help provide temporary tent shelters for families who have lost their homes and clean up of rubble from our fallen perimeter wall and water tower. We received sad news after their engineer’s assessment of our technical school that it will have to be torn down. The damage it sustained was beyond repair. But we are not discouraged. We feel God is giving us even greater opportunity to impact our community and the country of Haiti for Christ. Our leaders have reported that many, many people have been coming to faith and we don’t have enough space for them all under our current church shelter. Thanks to The City Church in Kirkland, we will have a new church tent to set up for services within the coming week.
We want to ask for your continued prayers, as our vision has not wavered, but rather has grown. We are implementing a Disaster Response Plan that includes immediate, short and long- term goals of rebuilding our community and our ministry and expanding to provide many essential services that have been lost due to the quake. Thank you for your support and if your church is interested in partnering with us long-term, please contact us or visit our website at www.haitiarise.org
Believe with us that Haiti will ARISE from the ashes and rubble and become the “Pearl of the Caribbean” again!
Sincerely, Marc and Lisa Honorat Haiti ARISE Ministries
